Scholarship Details:
This master study is expected to examine the suitability of land for afforestation by focusing on mapping of land use/land cover and land degradation in Central Asia, based on the MODIS time series of satellite images and consequent validation of the produced maps. For the identified land-use classes and degraded land parcels, the GIS-based evaluation of land suitability for afforestation will be performed, based on multiple criteria, i.e., tree species and land characteristics.
Eligibility Details:
Bachelor degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines;
- Experience in remote sensing and/or GIS application;
- A good command of English.
