Scholarship Details:
The objectives of ReUseWaste are to develop new tools and technologies for characterisation, treatment, separation, recovery and utilisation of manure organic matter, nutrients and bioenergy and assess land application effects; and to synthesize the developed knowledge into new manure management systems. The current PhD fellowship will focus on new improved, technologies for recycling nutrients from animal manure to the land. Methodologies for using the ash from gasification or incineration of manure solids as a slowly available bio-ash P fertiliser should be developed, as well as technologies for returning the most recalcitrant components of the manure as bio-fertiliser, e.g. the solids after anaerobic digestion by carbonisation (e.g. by pyrolysis) or composting, in order to enhance soil C sequestration and quality.

-The successful candidates will participate in a Marie Curie international training network and will work in a highly interactive international environment with other Marie-Curie PhD students, researchers and industry. They will execute a part of the work during extended visits at the partner institutions outside of Denmark.
