Scholarship Details:
The Department of Archaeology and Classical Studies, which is the largest archaeological environment in Sweden, consists of six sections: Archaeology, Archaeological Research Laboratory, Stockholm Numismatic Institute, Osteoarchaeological Research Laboratory, Classical Archaeology and Ancient History, and Centre for the Study of Cultural Evolution. Archaeology, which is the largest unit at the department, is a theoretical as well as practical subject that focuses on studies of both prehistoric and historic periods. The specific profile of the subject is an archaeology based on interpretative humanistic traditions.
Post doc in Archaeology:
Specializing in Historical archaeology, in a broad North European sense (i.e the period from c. 500 AD until the present)
The position is full time for two years.
The position is mainly directed towards research, but the holder is expected to participate in teaching (maximum 20%) on basic and advanced levels.
Eligibility Details:
Qualification requirement for the position is a doctoral degree in archaeology or an equivalent foreign degree. The doctoral exam must have been acquired within the last three years. However, due to special circumstances, for instance parental leave, the exam may have been acquired earlier.
Basis for the assessment will be the applicant’s academic ability as demonstrated through her/his own original research and scientific publications. We will especially consider the research plan for the position, where the applicant will outline her/his intentions of the employment.
