Scholarship Details:
The post is funded by a Late-Stage Invention for Innovation grant to support the development of technology to enable the continuous monitoring of the internal eye pressure over a period of 24 hours. The project offers an exciting opportunity to apply structural engineering analysis tools in the challenging field of biomechanics. Candidates will have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in structural or biomechanical engineering and a strong background in structural engineering or biomechanics research. A track record in experimental testing and numerical simulation is desirable. The post is available for 3 years.
Eligibility Details:
-PhD (or be about to obtain) in structural or biomechanical engineering
- Nonlinear numerical simulation of mechanical behaviour
-Advanced use of spreadsheet packages Good communication skills
-Ability to work as part of a team Dependable and reliable
-Good interpersonal and organisational skills
-Possession of the basic knowledge, skill and experience required for the job and the ability to use these to discharge the role effectively and efficiently
-Willingness to help other team members ensuring a degree of knowledge and co-operation is achieved at all times
- Ability to prioritise work to meet set deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential matters
