The Kidney Foundation of Canada is proud to announce the first of a new annual Research Grant competition focusing on Alport Syndrome. The KFOC will fund one excellent application that is determined to be relevant to the following research areas: •Understanding the cause, pathophysiology or treatment of Alport Syndrome The maximum amount awarded for one single grant will be $ 100,000 per year for 1 year (12 months).
Though applicants at all stages of their research career are eligible for funding, The Kidney Foundation wishes to give priority to new investigators in the field of kidney and urinary tract research. This is defined by the fact, that at the time of application, the applicants have held their first faculty position for no more than 36 months. In such cases, the application should be accompanied by a letter from the Departmental Chair indicating the nature of the university appointment, the facilities being provided and the research potential of the candidate.The Kidney Foundation of Canada, applicants undertake the responsibility to ensure any experimentation will be acceptable to the institution on ethical grounds and comply with the Tri-Council Policy Statements: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans.
