Scholarship Details:

The College of Humanities at the University of Exeter has considerable research strengths in the areas of Science, Technology, and Culture. This has been recognised in the designation of Science, Technology, and Culture as one of the themes of the University’s new interdisciplinary Humanities and Social Science Strategy. We host several major AHRC grant awards supporting collaborative research with national and international partners. In Digital Humanities, staff research is concentrated around the University Centre for Intermedia and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Film Research. There is also extensive activity in areas around other elements of technology in culture: expert supervision is available in areas like the history and literature of science and technology, and in the history and archaeology of material culture. We offer a supportive and stimulating environment for postgraduate research and practice and welcome students from all around the world.

Eligibility Details:

We invite applications for any of our specialisms from candidates with a strong academic background and a clear and engaging research proposal which can be developed through available research supervision. Successful applicants normally have a good first degree (at least 2.1, or international equivalent) in a relevant field of humanities, and a Masters degree at Merit level, or international equivalent, in a relevant field of humanities. If English is not your native language then you will also need to satisfy our English language entry requirements.
