The Department of International Economics and Management invites applications for 2 vacant positions as Assistant Lecturer (AL) in Chinese Language from August 15th, 2012 for a period of three years. The Assistant Lecturer will be teaching Chinese Language at the Asian Studies Programme. The Asian Studies Programme (ASP) consists of a one year preparatory course in Chinese language and a bachelor programme, BSc in Business, Asian Language and Culture, where the teaching of Chinese language amounts to about 20%. At ASP, language is seen as a tool for communication with native Chinese speakers as well as an access to understanding Chinese mind set, culture and society. The AL is a part-time position with varying teaching schedule. The applicant will be part of a small team of teachers. The applicant must possess good interpersonal skills, as communication and knowledge-sharing between teachers across the different language courses at ASP is essential to the quality of the overall programme. The AL must be able to work independently and use creative methods in his/her teaching. We expect the new AL to be a reliable and stable asset in our work team.
-A high level of Chinese language proficiency (native speakers will be preferred).
-A relevant Master’s degree or corresponding qualification.
-English skills corresponding to a minimum of Level B (“Gymnasium” level) / TOEFL 575 / CAE / CPE / IELTS 6,5 or the equivalent.
-Teaching experience, preferably with Chinese language teaching at university level Knowledge of Chinese economy, business and society.
